Doesn't matter what I do, the drivers for this network card won't start, gives me an error Code 10 in the device manager. I've installed it where the original card was, and even tried it in the two spare mini-pci ports. So I've given up with the wireless card and put in my old wireless card from my other laptop, it's a Intel Wireless 3945ABG card. I've messed around with different wireless card settings like roaming aggression, tried different channels and modes and even tried encryption (though, that would be unrelated to why the actually card is going on and off, but I tried it anyways). I've tried all the drivers and so on, tried different installation of Windows including going back to Vista, exact same problem. The external Modem / Router that you are trying to connect to usually come with a small Card with the WiFi Details such as WiFi Name / Provider / WiFi Password and some other documentation on connections.Got a strange problem with my Dell laptop, firstly, the Wireless card it came with is very flaky, meaning the wireless light will switch on and off randomly and quickly, the actual Wireless card is turning off and on so I'm losing my connection to the wireless network. You may be asked for some other details such as WiFi Password or MAC Address or some form of Identifier which is usually supplied with External Modem / Router which you may have to enter manually to connect the two. If it is in the list select it and click Connect. ( Make sure its WiFi is Enabled or it wont show up in the list ). In this list it should show the External Modem / Router what you are trying to connect to. It should show a list of Networks Available. Hover your Mouse over it or Right Click on it to see what options you are given. You should see a Network Access Icon in the bottom Right Hand Side of you Task Bar. I am only speculating as i don`t know what type of Setup ( External Modem / Router you have and if its Wireless capable ).
