I had the same probleme, it came from the discord overlay. If you have discord and have the overlay on that is the issue. If I join somebody elses I don't get a black screen. I also found thqt this only happens when either me or my friend host a game. Did you try running in windowed mode? Yes and still black scren. If I pause the game I can see everything again but if I unpase it goes back to black. I can join a game but as soon as it comes time to play and get into the action my screen turns black.
